Types Of Care

Residential Care

Also referred to as Personal Care and Assisted Living, this service is for people aged 50 and above who require support with the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, medication supervision, cooking, cleaning, and mobility which can no longer be managed at home.  Many residents also choose to live with us simply because they no longer want to live alone or to shoulder the burden of maintaining their own home. Care for this group of residents is simply about peace of mind, and our care homes are able to provide a place where they are able to flourish; making friends and exploring new interests.

The activity programmes provided by our care teams are tailored to meet peoples residential care needs and capabilities – and are thoroughly enjoyed! These include gardening, baking, outings, gentle exercise, pet care and life-skills work. Other specialist activities such as reminiscence therapy, music therapy and complimentary therapies are also a part of our activities programmes.

Dementia Care Services

he care and support of people living through dementia require an approach that is truly focused on the individual. Our commitment is to understand the needs of the people affected by dementia and those of their families and how the two together provide effective care.

We have extensive knowledge and experience with dementia and make sure that it reflects in the care plans that we provide.

We realise through experience that providing dementia care is not just about offering practical support, but also responding to a person’s emotions and understanding the importance of a loving environment. This is an essential part of any care package when dealing with dementia. It important for people with dementia to know that they are valued and loved irrespective of their actions.

Respite Care

Everyone deserves time out. Whether you care for a relative or are in need of care yourself, taking a break from your usual routine can do the world of good.
Respite care is a service for people who wish to stay with us on a short term basis.  This can be for people who need a little extra support whilst recovering from an illness or operation and can be for one week or a few months.  Respite stays can also be arranged to give the carer of someone who is unable to look after them-selves a well-earned rest.

Whatever the reason we want our respite residents to enjoy a wide variety of recreation and leisure pursuits, and to indulge themselves in our delicious and nutritionally balanced home cooked meals prepared in-house by our resident chef.  It is an opportunity to meet new friends and we guarantee a very warm welcome by our friendly and reliable staff. Many respite residents, having first sampled home life through a respite period of care, do in fact end up staying permanently. It is a great way to sample the standard of care on offer.

Our inclusive approach is applied to all our respite residents no matter how short their stay is and we aim to ensure that they maintain their independence and freedom of choice whilst providing them with the security of around-the-clock support to ensure optimum peace of mind.

The perfect location
Many of our homes are set in beautiful countryside locations and are ideal destinations for respite breaks or a short stay while a carer is on holiday.

Meeting individuals’ needs
Our aim is to provide seamless continuity of care and our well-trained staff work hard to ensure that everyone’s personal preferences are respected.

Prior to admission, the care home manager will arrange to meet you in the convenience of your own home, or at the care home. We then assess your care needs, start to get to know you and your likes and dislikes and then tailor a care plan to suit you.
